Dr Innocent Monya-Tambi was born in Kenema but since an early age grew up in Tongo Field, where his father after leaving government medical services moved to and opened a private medical practice. His primary school education in Tongo field, his father’s medical practice which served as a focal point for his social interaction with many members in this large cosmopolitan “village” nurtured his sense of belonging to the community which he believes raised him as a whole. He fondly calls Tongo his home and a proud member of the big worldwide family that calls it home. He studied medicine in the United States where he currently practices as well.
