Dr Seah (C-YA) Matilda Banga was born in Kono, Sierra Leone to Mr A W Bangah and Nurse Comfort Bangah who both worked at the NDMC hospital in Kono and Tongo field.

Over the years she has stepped on corridors of politics and Ministry simultaneously in many parts of the world pioneering the women in politics and human rights initiatives. Matilda is an alumnus of Omega Institute and Seminary, the Haggai Institute of South Africa and Thompson school of Journalism. -,. She holds a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and a doctorate in Christian Education and Leadership from the Southern Wesleyan University in South Carolina.  Dr Matilda engaged in Conflict  Resolutions studies at the Nairobi Peace Initiatives for which she received many Diplomas and Certificates.

With her active role in community development and as a political activist, she was invited to participate in The Barack Obama Advocacy Fellows Program- Organizing For Action in Chicago where she completed and graduated as a Fellow.

Among other experiences, for 3 years Matilda worked for the Campaign for Good Governance in Sierra Leone as the Civil Society Coordinator, developing sustainable development programs and Political Campaigns for grassroots development and served as Secretary-General for National Organization for women for many years.

During the war, Matilda went undercover with the alias SIA DOMINGO when she stood up for the peace of Sierra Leone as a radio announcer and reporter for the Radio democracy FM 98.1.

She was later appointed Personal Assistant to President Tejan Kabbah,  a position she held until she left for further studies in the United States for Democratic Enhancement for Women, on the invitation of the United States Agency for International Development. While an international visitor, Matilda was honored by the Mayor of the State of Nebraska as an honorary citizen.

She is the general Overseer of GAP Ministries International with branches in India and The Gambia and the President of Diaspora International Platform in the USA  with representatives of over 30 countries as members. Ms Banga is the CEO of This Time Africa Media a digital television platform that engages great minds of Africa in discussions about Africa and throws light on the achievements of Africans.

Dr Matilda is an author of a platinum book on Amazon “The Battle for the goal Post” and So you think you can pray?” She serves as an Elections Judge and a  Notary Public for the State of Maryland.

People who know her describe her as a tenacious and loyal woman, fighting for the dignity and stability of her people.
